Course fees and discounts

Fees for individual participants

Fees include all training material, access to preparatory online course on the Essentials of International Humanitarian Law, and lunches and coffee breaks for the days of the training. Fees do not include travel or accommodation costs.

Regular/ member fee: The regular/ member fee applies to members in good standing of PHAP and participants who apply for membership at the same time as applying for the selected training.

Members benefit not only from reductions on fees but also a wealth of professional networking and information-sharing opportunities, both online and on the ground. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required. Participation in a PHAP training course is not required for membership in the association. Membership dues are €80 per year.

Discount pricing

Returning participant discount: The purpose of the PHAP Returning Participant Discount Program is to encourage and facilitate individual participation in multiple onsite events over time, with the understanding that this furthers the professional development and networking mission of the Association as a whole. A discount of 20% on the regular fee is offered to participants who have already attended at least 5 days of training courses with PHAP. A discount of 40% on the regular fee is offered to participants who have already attended at least 10 days of training courses with PHAP. The returning participant discount applies to the regular fees for individuals (not group fees).

The discount only applies to PHAP members in good standing. Participants can settle their membership dues together with the tuition fees for the selected training.

Group discount (2-3 participants): A group of 2 or 3 people is eligible for a 5% discount on full and member individual prices. The participants need to be participating in the same course and be invoiced jointly. These discounts cannot be combined with other discounts nor are available for sponsored fees.

Group discount (4+ participants): A group of 4 or more people is eligible for a 10% discount on full and member individual prices. The participants need to be participating in the same course and be invoiced jointly. These discounts cannot be combined with other discounts nor are available for sponsored fees.

Tuition assistance

When donor support makes it possible, PHAP is able to offer a limited number of seats at a reduced price for participants from local and national civil society organizations in developing countries. In order to submit a request for tuition assistance, follow these steps:

1. Apply for the selected training event.
2. Should you be accepted as a participant to the selected training, you will receive an acceptance notification. You can request the tuition assistance by replying to the acceptance notification, specifying why you require the assistance.

Due to a high number of tuition assistance requests, only a limited number of admitted training participants are granted tuition assistance. We recommend that interested individuals apply and make their requests as early as possible.

Please note that the partial tuition assistance does not cover travel, accommodation, or other costs that the applicant may incur from attending the training course.
